Is there anything special I should do at the end of the heating season?

The recommended procedure at the end of the heating season is to turn off the water supply to the humidifier, empty and wipe-out the water reservoir, and set the humidistat to the off position (0%). If there are still mineral deposits on the basin, a quick rinse with a mild vinegar solution will clean them out. If you have air conditioning, you should also close the hot air supply damper.
